Information We Process
- App preferences & study progress: Your language selection, bookmarked questions, incorrect-answer history, test progress, and premium status are stored locally on your device (AsyncStorage). This data stays on your device unless you back it up via your OS.
- In-app purchase data: If you buy the ad-free upgrade, Google Play Billing shares a purchase token so we can unlock Premium features and restore them on reinstall. We do not receive your card or payment details.
- Advertising data (AdMob + mediation): We use Google AdMob and its mediation partners (including Meta Audience Network) to show banner, interstitial, and rewarded ads. Ad networks may collect device identifiers (e.g., Google Advertising ID/IDFA), IP address, user agent, approximate location (derived from IP), and ad interaction data to deliver, cap, and measure ads, and to detect fraud. You can choose personalised or non‑personalised ads where required by law.
- Analytics (Firebase Analytics): With your consent where required, we collect aggregated usage events (e.g., screen views, feature usage, mock test results) and device context such as app version, OS version, device model, and coarse location (country/region). We use this to understand which features are helpful and to improve the App. Analytics is disabled until consent is obtained in regions where consent is required.
- Session replays (Microsoft Clarity): With your consent where required, we record interaction sessions (screen touches, navigation flow, UI layouts, device characteristics, app version, and coarse location inferred from IP) through Microsoft Clarity to understand usability issues and crashes. Sensitive input such as payment fields is not present in the App, and recordings are used solely for UX diagnostics. You can disable this at any time via the in-app Privacy & Consent Settings.
- Notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging + device notifications): If you opt in, the App creates an FCM registration token on your device to deliver push notifications (e.g., reminders, progress updates). The token is stored locally and used with Google’s cloud messaging infrastructure. You can turn notifications on/off at any time in Settings or system preferences.
- Remote configuration: We use Firebase Remote Config to safely tune non‑personal parameters (e.g., ad frequency limits, rating prompt intervals). Remote Config associates an app instance identifier but is not used by us to identify you.
- Diagnostics: Standard logs and error information may be generated to troubleshoot issues. We do not operate our own analytics/crash servers.
How We Use the Information
- Provide core functionality such as mock exams, bookmarking, offline study, and premium features.
- Show ads and measure performance (personalised or non‑personalised based on your choice).
- Improve the App through aggregate analytics and feature usage insights.
- Send optional reminders and updates if you enable notifications.
- Validate purchases and restore entitlements after reinstall.
Data Sharing
- Google LLC: We use Google services for ads (AdMob), analytics (Firebase Analytics), messaging (Firebase Cloud Messaging), and remote configuration. See Google’s Privacy Policy, Advertising Policy, and Firebase Privacy & Security.
- Meta Platforms, Inc. (Facebook): Meta Audience Network may receive data via AdMob mediation solely for ad delivery and measurement. See Meta’s Privacy Policy and Audience Network.
- Microsoft Corporation: We use Microsoft Clarity to capture anonymised interaction sessions for UX diagnostics. See Microsoft’s Privacy Statement. Recordings are stored on Microsoft servers and are not shared publicly.
- Google Play Store: Processes payments and provides purchase status (purchase tokens) for the ad‑free upgrade.
- We do not sell personal data.
Consent & Controls
- Consent dialog: In regions where required (e.g., EEA/UK), a consent prompt powered by Google’s User Messaging Platform lets you choose personalised ads, non‑personalised ads, or decline. If you refuse consent, only non‑personalised ads are requested, and analytics/session recordings stay disabled.
- Manage choices: You can revisit your selections any time from the in‑app Privacy & Consent Settings screen, where you can toggle ads personalisation, Firebase Analytics, and Microsoft Clarity session recording independently.
- Notifications: You can enable/disable notifications in the App’s Settings or your device settings. Disabling notifications stops token use and cancels scheduled local reminders.
- Advertising ID: You can reset your device’s advertising ID and limit ad personalisation in system settings. Upgrading to Premium removes all ads.
Retention & Control
- All study progress stored via AsyncStorage remains on your device until you uninstall the App or clear its data.
- You can clear the premium status and history by uninstalling/reinstalling the App. Development builds may include manual reset options.
- You can reset your Google Advertising ID and limit ad personalisation in your Android settings. Where required (e.g. EEA/UK), Google’s consent dialog lets you choose between personalised, non-personalised, or no ads. If you refuse consent, only non-personalised ads are requested.
Legal Basis & Audience
The App is intended for adults preparing for the German citizenship exam. We process data to deliver the App (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). For advertising and analytics we rely on legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) and, where required by local law (e.g., EEA/UK), your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) gathered via the consent prompt. The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
International Transfers
Because we use Google services (AdMob, Firebase, Play Billing) and mediation partners (e.g., Meta Audience Network), your information may be processed on servers outside your country, including in the EU and the United States. Providers participate in the EU‑U.S. Data Privacy Framework and/or use Standard Contractual Clauses for cross‑border transfers. We do not maintain our own backend servers.
Your Rights
Residents of the European Union and other jurisdictions may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their personal data, restrict or object to processing, or request data portability. Contact us at support@einbuergerungstest-fragen24.de to exercise these rights. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. For ad choices, adjust your device’s ad settings, use the in‑app consent screen, or purchase the ad‑free upgrade.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy to reflect App or legal updates. The revised version will be posted at this URL with a new “Last updated” date.
